Every food you buy and bring into the house will end up in your or your family’s stomach, that’s a fact! Eating mindfully starts with shopping mindfully. My first tip is to take a moment just before you hit the cashier point to reflect on your shopping trolly because that’s what you’re going to eat in the next few days. If your cart is full of fresh, colourful, vibrant produce, great! If it’s loaded with boxes and packages, hmmmm….. You are feeding on highly processed food. This is revealing and confronting at the same time.
Get well organised with shopping, make a basic weekly list and leave some room for seasonal produce. Choose very carefully where you shop for food (I try to stay away from big supermarkets) and above all, do not go shopping when you’re hungry!

Scan your cart to reflect on what goes into your body!
